Xmods Repairs -  Terms and conditions 

Repair Service 

Kindly note we charge a R400 bench fee to open up a console and to troubleshoot it to find out where the issues are and what needs to be done. It takes workshop time to locate / identify a technical fault - This charge will be waived if the quote is accepted and the repair goes ahead  

(1) Repairs not collected within 3 months of notification will attract a storage fee of R300 per month . Once the repair + storage fee exceed the value on the item , it will be sold to defray expenses 

(2) Xmods will not be responsible for any data , including Avatars or saved games - Backup all data before sending your repair in 

(3) Please ensure that all disks and accessories ( including any peripherals such as cables , batteries .... ) are removed from the repair - We will not be held responsible for lost disks / accessories  

(4) Note there is no warranty on any surge damaged components . Further to surge damage and due to  the nature of a PSU , they are directly affected by surge / load shedding / brownouts and any PSU that stops working will be due to an electrical event of some sort , and this cannot be warrantied

(5) Fault symptoms may change , according to the failed components and work done . For example , a console booked in with a turn on then off error can have a direct short to ground , which causes the console to turn off . So when that short is repaired , that fault will have been repaired , but a short does not just happen , so other components may have been damaged further down the track . So to simplify , once the short has been cleared , the next fault will become evident and show its symptoms , which in the case of the southbridge / APU / MEMORY / POWER MANAGMENT CHIP .... the console will now have a no power error - In short , a console might be returned with a different fault for which it was booked in for

(6) We are not liable for any damage or loss incurred to unrepairable items during the assessment process or upon their return. It is understood that unrepairable items may have pre-existing damage that contributed to their status. Items that are deemed unrepairable will be returned to you in their existing condition. We will not undertake any further repairs / assembly or Diagnosis once the equipment is deemed unrepairable .  

(7) Where applicable , All unapproved quotations will be returned unrepaired and machines unassembled

(8 ) We will not accept any liability for Consoles that have been previously opened and have undergone repairs or modifications by another party. Due to prior work been done, there may be underlying issues, low quality work , existing faults or complications not immediately apparent or not displaying during assessment - This could affect the current repair process or may display faults during repair and as such we will not be responsible for any issues that could arise during our assessment / repair of a previously worked on console or to restore any prior functionality in the event of a system failure

(9) We will not be held responsible for a console failing while stress testing a repair - If a console fails a stress test, then the fault lies in the equipment + we cannot warranty or be responsible for that 

(10 ) Estimates provided do not include additional sundry charges that may be incurred during the repair process. Please be aware that final costs may vary based on unforeseen circumstances.

(11) Estimates we provide without physically inspecting the equipment are essentially educated guesses. When we can’t see the equipment in person, it’s challenging to accurately assess the specific issues and necessary repairs. Factors like hidden damage, the condition of components, and other variables can influence the final cost.

(12) After 7 days , a repair comes with a  "send-in warranty." This means that you will be responsible for the shipping costs to send the item to us for repair, as well as the shipping costs for us to send it back to you once the repair is completed. 

(13) Repair warranty period is 90 days from invoice - Please note a workshop warranty claim applies to work done only and associated faults - Any other faults will be charged accordingly . Warranty voids situations include Surge damage items , Physical damage , Warranty seal removed or equipment opened , Firmware problems and misuse
